The Application Process

Inspira Medical Center, Woodbury Family Medicine Residency program participates in the National Residency Matching Program.

Eligibility requirements for a PGY-1 position: 
Complete the ERAS on-line application (paper applications are not accepted). We do not have a supplemental application to the ERAS application. Ensure that all required documentation is uploaded and current in ERAS.

  1. Undergraduate and Graduate medical training, including the name of each institution, degrees granted and anticipated, program completed, and dates attended
  2. Official transcript reflecting all courses through Year 3 of Medical School
  3. Dean’s Letter
  4. 3-4 Letters of Recommendation from persons familiar with your clinical performance
  5. USMLE and/or COMLEX Scores 
  6. Personal Statement explaining your interest specific to Family Medicine
  7. ECFMG Certification, if applicable
  8. Medical school graduation cannot exceed 5 years prior to the start of the program.

The Interview Process

  • Walk-in applicants will not be interviewed; applicants must be invited to interview.
  • We only interview one to two applicants per day.
  • Special requests for the interview day should be discussed with the Residency Coordinator prior to the interview.
  • Hotel accommodations can be made by the Residency Coordinator for those applicants traveling a distance. Applicants with a travel time of two or more hours are encouraged stay at the hotel the evening prior.  
  • Applicants will meet individually with the following during their interview (not necessarily in the order shown):

    1. Program Director  (30-60 minutes)
    2. Faculty  (30 minutes each)
    3. Chief Resident or Designee during tour of Family Medicine Center and Hospital (30-45 minutes)
    4. Group lunch with residents  (60-90 minutes)

Fourth-year Medical Student electives are available for candidates interested in applying to our program on a space available basis. .
