Welcome Letter

Welcome to the Inspira Woodbury Family Medicine Residency Program!   We are a 4-4-4 program established in 1982 at a progressive community hospital located 10 miles outside of Philadelphia.  As the sole residency program based at this hospital throughout the 30+ years we have been graduating Family Physicians into our region, we are able to train our residents in an exceptionally primary-care oriented environment with tremendous support from our community physicians and volunteer faculty.  Please browse our website for details about our curriculum, faculty, residents, alumni, and benefits, but here are a few highlights about our accomplished program:

  • Academic affiliations with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Our Woodbury Family Medicine Center is designated as a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center, providing care for a culturally diverse, predominantly underserved population
  • Emphasis on the biopsychosocial model of care, with a full-time Clinical Psychologist and an integrated Behavioral Health-Primary Care practice model
  • Robust Women’s Health curriculum with colposcopies as well as IUDs/contraceptive implants incorporated into the comprehensive care provided at our Family Medicine Center
  • Abundant pediatric population in our continuity practice
  • Program wide participation in peer-reviewed publication through our membership in the Family Physicians Inquiries Network (FPIN)
  • Close mentoring relationships with our Family Medicine and subspecialty faculty, including a Family Medicine trained Sports Medicine physician
  • 8 hours of protected academic time weekly, with hands-on Procedure Workshops, interactive small group learning, Simulation center sessions, Morning Reports, Journal Clubs, Balint Group and lectures from our Family Medicine and subspecialty faculty
  • Graduates who have successfully matched into competitive fellowships or have been directly recruited into highly desirable outpatient and inpatient practices, many in our region
  • Graduates who have assumed leadership positions such as the 2015-16 AAFP President, Wanda Filer, MD, MBA, FAAFP, and Inspira Health Network’s Executive Medical Director of Employed Physicians, Christopher Trotz, M.D.
  • If you are looking for a Family Medicine residency with talented faculty that emphasize excellence in education over service, personal mentoring relationships, and evidence-based, patient-centered primary care, the Inspira Woodbury Family Medicine Residency is the program for you.  We are a well-established residency with a long tradition of training exceptional physicians and leaders in Family Medicine.  We look forward to your learning more about us!

Sincerely,

Gina G. Glass, MD, FAAFP, Program Director, Inspira Woodbury Family Medicine Residency
